RED DEVIL
GRAPHICS CARD
Background
Established by TUL corporation, PowerColor is a Taiwanese brand that provides high-performance graphics cards for gaming enthusiasts across the world. Seeking to infuse its product line with a distinctive identity, PowerColor commissioned CRE8 to design the Red Devil AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card with design elements that can be inherited and applied to its future generations.
Challenges
Designers had to come up with a new product language that resonates with the name – Red Devil, while having to balance the visual aesthetics and functionality. Targeting high-end gamers, a carefully considered structure and CMF plan was a must for an elevated overclocking experience with optimized thermal performance.
Solutions
A fierce look was given with a hint of claw-like shapes and patterns, which can be found on the back plate and the lightguide. The LED illuminated ports can easily lead you to the outputs and the lighting effect is configurable for seamless syncing with other devices.
The reinforced all-metal structure provides strengthened protection for the components. The hollow area, along with increased array of vertical aluminum fins on the heatsink, nickel-plated copper heat pipes, and exclusively designed downward blade angle of the cooling-fans, allow for enhanced heat dissipation by up to 60% at an impressively low temperature.
