WEAVING LOGIC
INTO THE ART OF
UI AND NAMING
CRE8 was commissioned by Delta to design the user interface, and to build naming guidelines for Delta's software.
Background
Branding goes far beyond designing a logo. Delta understands the importance of design consistency not only on the corporate level, but also for its services and product lines. Therefore, after developing a consistent product identity for its business groups, CRE8 was commissioned again to design the user interface, user manuals, and to build naming guidelines for Delta’s software.
Challenges
Considering how wide and complicated the software ranges and how big the size of the company extends, there was a lack of hierarchy and consistency in the existing UI and naming framework. The corporation needed an over-arching but at the same time, easy-to-comprehend strategy that simplifies and systemizes the UI and naming structure to be clear enough for everyone to follow.
Solutions
Naming
CRE8 conducted a naming workshop followed by multiple brainstorming sessions with Delta’s team to set up a step-by-step naming guidebook. Clever and hierarchical, the naming system was developed to efficiently generate names that represent the solutions’ functions and the categories they belong to, so all of Delta’s staff can immediately identify the key features of the software.
User Interface
A set of UI design guidelines was created with Delta’s branding elements for a family look. Every common component was defined for future application with every icon illustrated and explained in details. From the layout, picture styles/formats, fonts, to the clear steps, the design builds credibility and a strong sense of professionalism, while creating a user-friendly operating experience.
