SHL (Scandinavian Health Limited) Group is a world-leading provider of drug delivery solutions. When they developed their innovative auto injectors – Amber, Molly, and DAI – for patients suffering from chronic diseases, they commissioned CRE8 to help them create a packaging system and promotional kits that would strip away stereotypical visual elements of a generic “clinical” feeling while maintaining the brand consistency.
To build a packaging system that could make patients feel better about themselves through friendly and informative visuals, while providing an accessible unboxing experience with a human-centered design approach to generate ease and comfort for patients, became the main mission for designers. One more factor that also needed to be taken into consideration was the possibility of various packaging combinations.

After an extensive research process, we realized that patients with muscle illness caused by chronic diseases cannot use their hands freely, so a thoughtfully-designed dieline for a thumb-press or knuckle-press opening solution was invented specifically for them.
The system shows great versatility in terms of different combinations: single, double, and 4-pack boxes; as well as interchangeable paper and blister inner structures. The box can easily be scaled to different ratios for injectors of all sizes and was made easy for automatic assembly.
TRIO INJECTION PAD
Adding to the family is a promotional gift – TRIO – a triangular injection pad that helps with auto-injector testing and is super easy to clean. TRIO’s package follows the same design language for intuitive usage while offering a special buffer inside for protection.
MEET MOLLY PROMOTIONAL KIT
This all-in-one sample kit was designed for convenient product demonstration. The clear information hierarchy makes product functions self-explanatory; the visuals are infused with fresh and dynamic feelings for friendly access to the injectors.
CRE8’s truly innovative packaging for both the Molly and DAI auto injectors invites use right out of the box, demonstrating once again that their team knows how to make functionality cool – and they have the awards to prove it.
